Star India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant made his first public appearance after suffering a major accident in December 2022. The 25-year-old player arrived at the Arun Jaitley stadium to watch the first home game of Delhi which is facing defending Champion Gujarat. Pant, who is recovering from multiple injuries, arrived using a walking stick in a golf cart.
Earlier, before the start of the game, Indian T20 League released a video of Delhi players wishing Pant a speedy recovery. In the video, Pant’s fellow teammates talk about his health and wished him to make a strong comeback real soon.
“I hope you are recovering well. Dekh raha hu tere videos ab dhire dhire chal raha hai (I have seen your videos you’re slowly being able to walk). Baby steps are coming now. Happy to see how you are recovering,” wished Prithvi Shaw.
Meanwhile, Axar Patel said, “We will be playing back in Delhi after 3-4 years. We will be missing you. I can see how well you are recovering. You are doing recovery pool for half an hour, so that’s a big thing.” Kuldeep Yadav, Kamlesh Nagarkot, and others were also seen in the video shared by the official Twitter handle of the Indian T20 League.
Will Delhi register its first victory today?
Talking about the game, David Warner-led Delhi will be looking to make a comeback after getting thrashed by Lucknow in the first game. In the first game of the tournament, Lucknow defeated Delhi by 50 runs in the iconic Ekkana stadium as Warner and Co. failed to chase down 194 runs. However, on Tuesday, the team will look to make a strong comeback.
On the other hand, Gujarat, who is coming after winning the first game, will look to continue their dominance. Hardik Pandya and Co. will hope to continue their winning run as in the last game they thrashed Chennai by five wickets. Meanwhile, fans react as Rishabh Pant makes his public appearance.
