As the third Test match between India and England is set to take place in Rajkot on 15th February Indian team has set a major setback as KL Rahul will not be available for the third Test. As per reports KL Rahul is not fully recovered from his quadriceps pain. Due to this, he did not play the second Test match in Vizag. As the news comes in Indian Cricket Board has questioned the medical team as he was been practicing in nets a video shared on Sunday called it misleading.
Indian Cricket Board has announced a strong squad of 17 members for the last three Test matches against England. Shreyas Iyer’s name was not included in the squad due to poor performance with the bat in the first two Test matches. He managed to get 106 runs in two Test matches. Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul are selected in the squad but their availability is subject to fitness from the medical team.
KL Rahul posted a video of him batting in the nets on Instagram on Sunday. He looked in touch while practising a cover drive. The video went viral on social media as many fans made sure he would be back for in the playing XI for the third Test. As KL Rahul has ruled out it has raised questions on the medical team to give a proper update on his injury.
“If the Indian Cricket Board’s medical team knew in the first place that Rahul’s quad injury was as serious as it looked, why in the first place was he kept in the provisional squad? And why is the player sending wrong signals by posting videos of his batting on Instagram stories,” the senior Indian Cricket Board official asked.
Currently, India is missing the services of Virat Kohli as he is not playing the whole Test series against England. As KL Rahul is not playing Sarfaraz Khan could be seen making his debut in Rajkot.
