‘Kamal Lajawaab Rahul for a Reason’ – Fans react as KL Rahul as he won’t reportedly recover for Asia Cup 2023

Indian cricket is hit with a setback as it is reported that KL Rahul will not recover in time for the Asia Cup 2023. He is presently doing his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. He underwent thigh surgery in May, and his return date has not been confirmed. Rahul was injured in the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he only played half the season.

Meanwhile, on another note, Jasprit Bumrah is returning to recovery, and it looks like he will make his comeback in the Ireland series. The best thing for India is that Bumrah can slowly get back to the grind in the T20I games against Ireland and then bowl it full tilt in the Asia Cup and then the One Day World Cup in October. Bumrah has missed the 20-20 World Cup in 2022, which took place in Australia, and the World Test Championship (WTC) final at the Oval in England, which took place between 7 to 11 June.

Cheteshwar Pujara has been dropped from the Indian Team for West Indies Tests

The report by Cricbuzz further states that the Indian Cricket Board and the NCA want Bumrah not to rush it but rather come back steadily into the scheme of things. They also want to see who Bumrah holds up after the game so that Bumrah will be part of a few four-day matches at the NCA, and if everything is good there, then a call of drafting him into the India squad against Ireland will be taken.

The Indian management also put out the teams for the Tests and One-Dayers against the West Indies. The big surprise among them was the snub of Cheteshwar Pujara. Sunil Gavaskar lambasted his omission and said that different standards are being set for other players, which does not make sense, “why is Cheteshwar Pujara made the scapegoat when the entire batting unit failed? Because he doesn’t have millions of followers on whatever platform to raise noise when he gets dropped”. Gavaskar added on India Today.
