On Day Two of the ongoing South Africa vs India First Test at the SuperSport Park, Centurion, the Asian team started with 208/8. KL Rahl was batting at 70 with Mohammed Siraj (0) at the crease. Even after losing the ninth wicket before Rahul’s hundred, the wicketkeeper batter for the game managed to score his second Test hundred at this venue. He helped the team reach 245 all-out.
In reply, the home team had a poor start as they lost Aiden Markram early. For the first time after the previous home series against India, Markram was opening the batting. After the successive failures, he was replaced by the domestic performer of that time, i.e. Saral Erwee. Meanwhile, at 11/1, the likes of former skipper Dean Elgar and Tony de Zorzi put together 93 runs.
After this partnership was broken, Keegan Peterson got out soon after which a collapse trigger scare. However, at 113/3, the likes of Elgar and debutant David Bedingham put together 131 runs to pile on India’s misery. However, before the day ended due to bad light, the visitors managed to pick two wickets with debutant Prasidh Krishna taking his maiden Test wicket in the form of Kyle Verreynne.
At the end of Day Two, the Proteas are 11 runs ahead with five wickets in hand. There is a high chance that skipper Temba Bavuma can bat on Day Three if needed as he is expected to get enough rest.
Day Three of a Test match is called a moving day. As it has turned out, the ongoing game can go either way. If the two-time WTC finalists can manage to pick the remaining five wickets for fewer runs, they can bat again but come up with a much-improved batting performance than 245 all-out. On the other hand, if South Africa can make the most of their batting against the 66-over-old ball, the Indians will be under pressure.

How much has India missed the persistent pressure Shami would create in tandem with Bumrah and Siraj on this ? #SAvIND #Centurion

A century that KL Rahul will be extremely proud of. Everyone goes through ups and downs but this young man, as some of us have been saying for a while, is a very rare talent.

We used to be a serious bowling unit. Underachieving in that 2018-20 overseas cycle will haunt me for a long time. pic.twitter.com/2yHotm72Vj

DAVID BEDINGHAM 50!!!
It’s half Century on debut for Bedders! Been really impressive in his work. Using all of his FC he’s picked up over the years. Never seem to have been flustered by the occasion at all. We’ve got a top player on our hands here. Bat on Bedders! #SAvsIND pic.twitter.com/KuIDgJY7MK

Alarm bells for Gill and Iyer. Next seven Tests crucial for the three of these as only two of them might go to Australia at the end of next year. pic.twitter.com/Ok2bePIzAh

This is what happens when you don’t play Highest Wicket taker for India in 2023 . Sir Jadeja is a Huge miss in any team at the moment unless your team wear Yellow. #SAvsIND #RavindraJadeja pic.twitter.com/CP6vA6wLel

Much has changed in the world in the last 2 years except, Dean Elgar being a thorn in India’s flesh during a test series in South Africa.#SAvsIND
