India’s star cricketer Prasidh Krishna made his Test debut in the ongoing first Test game against South Africa on December 26 in Centurion. Notably, the star cricketer has already made his debut in T20Is and ODIs; however, he got the nod in the longest format of the game as well, owing to his lethal bowling spells.

The star cricketer marked his comeback in international cricket since the Ireland tour, where he impressed the most by picking up four wickets in two games. Notably, following his success, Krishna got the nod in the Asia Cup 2023, where he played the game against Bangladesh when senior players were rested ahead of the final game. However, Hardik Pandya’s injury helped Krishna place himself in the ODI World Cup 2023 squad as well.

Speaking about the game here, South African skipper Temba Bavuma won the toss and invited visiting sides to bat first. However, Rohit Sharma is quite confident about facing the South African side on extra-bouncy pitches. In addition, the 36-year-old skipper feels it is a challenge to bat first, but he is hopeful that the boys will give their best.

Prasidh Krishna is making his debut: Rohit Sharma

“We are quite aware of the conditions, we have been here a few times. Need to put runs on the board and the bowlers will do the job for us. We do understand the challenge of batting first with the overhead conditions and the grass, but the guys are up for the challenge. Every time we come here, we come with high hopes. We’ve come close in the last 2 tours. We are pretty confident with our squad and the make-up of our squad Prasidh is making his debut,” Rohit Sharma said at the toss.
