India beat Australia by an innings and 132 runs at Nagpur to take a lead of 1-0 in the four-match Test series against Australia. Ashwin picked up eight wickets in the match and Jadeja picked up 7 wickets in the match. India finished the match in three days.

India bowled out Australia for a paltry 91 in the second innings and showed that they meant business against them. India did beautifully and made a statement by emphatically winning the Test match. Ashwin beat the Aussies at their own game by changing his action even as Australia hired the services of Mahesh Pithiya the Baroda-based off-spinner to counter Ashwin.

Rohit compred his spin trioka with the current Australian pace troika

Following the completion of the game, skipper Rohit Sharma talked about the difficulties of handling Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja as both wanted to bowl for longer period of time.

“It’s a I’ll tough (to handle three spinners). They are always inching towards their milestones. Jadeja was telling me, mereko ball do, I need 1 wicket to reach 250. Ashwin had picked up four wickets, he was closing in on five wickets, and he wanted to bowl. That is the challenge I am facing at the moment with these guys. I don’t know too much about the milestones but these guys are quite aware of it. These guys are of real quality. The pressure is always on me to find the right end for them,” He said at the post-match press conference on Saturday,

Rohit tries and finds match-ups to dismiss a particular batter against a particular bowler. Ashwin and Jadeja also reached their respective milestones which made Rohit heave a sigh of relief. Ashwin dismissed four left-handed batters in the Australian line-up in the second innings when he took a five-wicket haul against Australia.

He compared the spin troika of India with the pace quartet of Australia, meaning he equated Ashwin, Jadeja and Axar to the pace quartet of Australia which comprises Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood and Mitchell Starc, who have been match-winners when they have put on the Baggy Green cap for Australia and have become a wonderful pace-troika for Australia.
