The FIFA World Cup 2022 kicked off on November 20 between the hosts Qatar and Ecuador, which the former lost eventually and on the back of their poor run in the biggest sporting event, they crashed out. As things stand, on December 1, Thursday, Croatia and Belgium locked horns in the Group F match and it turned out to be a hard-fighting one for both teams.

It was a must-win game for both teams and it remained to be seen until the start of the game if either of the teams could dominate the game completely. However, much to the stupefaction of the fans, the first half ended with neither of the teams scoring a goal. The second half started with Belgium dominating until the 55-minute mark and Croatia, on the other hand, struggled to tackle the Red Devils’ forwards. Eventually, the match ended with a scoreline of 0-0 and it was Croatia who managed to sneak into the Round of 16 stage after fighting it hard on Thursday.

Morocco progress in FIFA World Cup 2022

Morocco and Canada locked horns in the other Group F match simultaneously and it turned out to be an eventful match for both teams. As far as the first half is concerned, all three goals came in the half and much to the dreariness of the Moroccan fans, there was an own goal as well.

Hakim Ziyech scored the first goal for the Moroccan side in the 4th minute and Youssef En-Nesyri doubled the lead in the 23rd minute. However, with just 5 minutes left in the half, Morocco’s Nayef Aguerd scored an own goal in the 40th minute, gifting a goal to the Maple Leafs. The match ended with a scoreline of 1-2 in Morocco’s favour and the team stormed into the knockout stage, joining the heavyweights. Both the Moroccan camp and the Vatreni would look to make it count and reach the quarter-finals of the campaign. If at all either of the teams makes it through to the quarter-finals, it will be a vital chance for them to clinch the title.
