India Women lost a hard-fought 20-20 World Cup semi-final against Australia Women by five runs. When Harmanpreet Kaur got out after scoring 52 off 34 balls with six fours and one six at 133-5, then India lost the next three wickets for just 29 runs and the match went away from their grasp. While some fans said Kaur was unlucky to get run-out as her bat was struck in the ground.  Australia batter Alyssa Healy had a different point of view.

She said that Kaur was cruising back to the crease and could have made it back by taking another stride or sliding her bat in. She later went on to say that if Kaur would have put the extra effort and run another two meters then she would have been home, and the outcome of the match would have been different.

India recently lost to Australia at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham as well

The wicketkeeper batter said that since Australia were able to concentrate on doing the small things right and since they were better that India in all departments that is bat ball and field, they were able to rack up a big score and put pressure on the Indian bowlers earlier and the India batters later in the first half of the second innings.

India have been good at World events, but they have not been able to crack the code of being able to do well in the big tournaments and have continually cracked under pressure when it comes to the semi-finals and finals. In the last 20-20 World Cup that was held in Australia in 2020, India were beaten in the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

India again lost to Australia recently in the Commonwealth Games final at Birmingham in England which meant that they could not win the Gold Medal and had to be content with the silver medal in the end. India also lost a T20I series on home turf recently against the Kangaroos by a 4-1 margin.
