The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will start on March 22 or 23 and will end on May 26 as per reports. A total number of 74 matches which includes three playoff clashes and a final will be played between the ten teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The top four teams will be qualified for the playoffs. The ten teams in IPL will be divided into two groups of five teams on each side. Group A will play with Group B in a home and away format and one with a match with four teams in the group.

In the league stage matches all the ten teams will play 14 matches. The top teams will face each other in Qualifier 1. The winner of Qualifier 1 will go directly into the final. On the other hand, teams who finished in third and fourth place in the points table will meet each other in the eliminator. The winner of the eliminator will face the loser of qualifier 1 to book the spot for the final.

T20 World Cup 2024 starts from June

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 is going to start from 23rd February. The Indian Cricket Board is expected to release the schedule for the IPL 2024 on 23rd February in two phases due to elections happening in India. The IPL 2024 will end just five days before the 2024 T20 World Cup which is going to take place in West Indies and the USA from June.

In the IPL 2023 final defending champions Gujarat Titans face Chennai Super Kings. Chennai Super Kings won their fifth title as they defeated Gujarat Titans in a thriller final. Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are the only two IPL teams to win five titles each. While Kolkata Knight Riders have two IPL titles.
