Virat Kohli has uploaded an adorable picture of his daughter Vamika on the occasion of her birthday. The picture shows Kohli lying on the grass with his baby daughter on his lap. Kohli had captioned- “My heartbeat is 2″.
Just a few days earlier, Kohli had uploaded an Instagram post of his family enjoying the sunset at Guwahati ahead of the ODI series against Sri Lanka.
In the Instagram post, Kohli can be seen with his wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika on the beach. Anushka and Kohli were seen holding the little hands of Vamika on either side. On Jan 10, 2023, Kohli cracked his 45th ODI hundred against Sri Lanka.
With that hundred, Kohli recorded the most number of hundreds in a country with 20 hundreds against his name, all of them scored in India in 99 innings. He also recorded the most hundreds against Sri Lanka by an Indian with nine of them in total.
This was his 73rd hundred, overall. Kohli treated the crowd at Guwahati to some brilliant stroke play and he made 113 off 87 balls with 12 fours and one six. He played his favourite shot over mid-wicket for a maximum and ran hard between the wickets to end up with a sensational ton.
The former India captain has shown form in the ODI format. He had started the tour of Bangladesh poorly as he recorded meagre returns in the first two ODIs. He then struck form in the third ODI to hit 113 of 91 balls with 11 fours and two sixes.
Just before this series, in the 20-20 World Cup in Australia, he scored 296 runs in six innings with an average of 98.66 and a strike rate of 136.40. He was India’s best batter.
He recorded four half-centuries in the tournament and one of his best T20 knocks came against Pakistan at Melbourne in October where he took Haris Rauf to the cleaners and ensured a come- from-behind win for India. He scored an unbeaten 82 to give India a four-wicket win at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Twitter was abuzz, let us take a look at the reactions here:
