The World Cup is just a few days away. All the 10 teams are gearing up for the mega event. Former Cricketers and experts have given their predictions for their top 4 ahead of the World Cup. India is the single host for the first time since England in 1983. Former Bangladesh cricketer Athar Ali Khan picked his semi-finalists for the marquee tournament.

He has made one surprising pick in his top 4 teams. India is one of the favourites to win the World Cup due to their home conditions. Along with India, the former cricketer picked Australia, England, and Bangladesh. The tournament is set to begin from 5th October in India and the preparations are in full flow. England will face New Zealand in the opening game.

This match will be a re-match of the 2019 final when England beat the Kiwis by the barest of margin. It was the boundary count after the initial match and Superover, both were tied. Ben Stokes was named the player of the match for his superb innings in the final. Athar, a part of the commentary panel of the World Cup, shared a surprising verdict by picking Bangladesh.

They’ve been playing some good cricket in recent years, and they’ve beaten some big teams. With subcontinent conditions, they will have an advantage. They will be one of the most difficult teams to beat in the World Cup.

According to reports Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan picked an injury to his foot during an evening training session on Thursday 29 September. According to reports he is set to miss the opening game against Afghanistan.
