The FIFA World Cup 2022, despite all the controversy surrounding it, has been a success on the footballing front. The footballing extravaganza in Qatar has seen some enthralling moments as well as some heartbreaking ones. The World Cup in Qatar has also produced some high-quality goals that would go down in history among very the best the world has ever seen.
Let’s look at five of the best goals scored at the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Richarlison’s overhead goal against Serbia
Brazil landed in Qatar as the favourites to win the mega event. Their campaign however failed to reach the conclusion that they had hoped for as the South American team crashed out of the World Cup in the Quarterfinals. The Brazilian team however entertained all with their free-flowing football.
Although they scored many high-quality goals at the tournament, the one that will be remembered the most is Richarlison’s overhead kick against Serbia. The Tottenham Hotspur player took a great first touch to a Vinicius Junior cross and knocked it up in the air only to lash out a fiery overhead kick that sailed over the Serbia Keeper in their opening match.
