The world’s biggest sporting event, the FIFA World Cup 2022 hosted by Qatar, is approaching the much-anticipated finals and Argentina marched into the summit clash post-crushing Croatia in the first semi-final. Eventually, France and Morocco faced off in the second semi-finals and the French brigade dominated the initial half.
Theo Hernández, the French star, scored the lead for the team and it was an early one as it came in the 5th minute, when the least expected. This came as a big blow for the Moroccan team who then struggled to match the lead, making it one of the toughest phases of all time for the team in the ongoing multinational tournament.
Eventually, the first half ended with a scoreline of 1-0 and it remained to be seen if the Moroccan team would make a comeback in the second half, given that team lacked morale and the chances of them matching the lead and doubling it remained highly unlikely.
As far as the second half is concerned, Morocco started with better intent, although Les Bleus kept tackling and thriving on doubling the lead. It was an impossible task for the Moroccan team given that the French defence was too difficult to break. Eventually, fans claimed that it was the end of the Moroccan team’s campaign in the ongoing world’s biggest sporting event as they remained goalless even at the 56-minute mark.
However, the Moroccan team kept thriving on their opportunities and tried their best to match the lead, with the hope to take the match to an additional time, to say the least. Randal Kolo Muani doubled the lead in the 79th minute and the spectators witnessed heart-breaking scenes as Morocco crashed out of the tournament. After fighting hard for 90 minutes and giving it their all in the tournament, it was the French team who won the match with a scoreline of 2-0.
