To add more, the first 15 minutes remained goalless and it was Aurélien Tchouaméni who pulled off the unbelievable goal for France in the 17th minute of the game. Eventually, the Three Lions were put on the back foot right away and they struggled to cope with the wrath of France team. On the other hand, it was a heartbreak for the English crowd who hoped that their team would get off to a flying start in the crucial encounter.

Eventually, the Three Lions failed to capitalize on the opportunities and match the lead, as the initial half ended with a scoreline of 0-1 in France’s favour. It remained to be seen if they could make a comeback and clinch the game in the second half, given that the English camp looked low on morale as they headed for the break.
