The FIFA World Cup 2022 kicked off on November 20 between the hosts Qatar and Ecuador and the former eventually crashed out of the tournament on the back of their poor run in the multinational tournament. As things stand, South Korea and Portugal locked horns in the Group H match on December 2, Friday, and the first half turned out to be a great one as both teams put on a great fight in the first half, much to the stupefaction of the fans.

As far as the first half is concerned, Portugal and South Korea remained at 1-1 at the end of the first half. Ricardo Horta scored the first goal for the Portugal team in the 5th minute while Kim Young-gwon scored the first goal and put the South Korean team on the front foot with his mighty effort in the 27th minute.

The second half turned out to be a hard-fighting one as the teams gave it their all to take the lead, although neither of them managed to do so at the 55-minute mark. Eventually, South Korea’s Hwang Hee-chan scored the lead for his team in the extra time and put the team into the knockouts.

Uruguay’s final touch in FIFA World Cup 2022

Uruguay and Ghana faced off in the Group H match simultaneously and the former came out on top post scoring 2 goals to their name, all within the first half. The Black Stars were brimming with confidence initially but went on to concede two goals in quick succession. To add more, Giorgian de Arrascaeta scored a brace for the Uruguayan team as he scored goals in the 26th and 32nd minute respectively.

Given that Portugal are already in the knockouts of the tournament, it was a must-win game for Uruguay, Ghana and South Korea as all three teams had a chance to make it through to the next round. However, the Black Stars failed to capitalize on the opportunity and it was Uruguay who made it through to the next round on the back of their thumping win against Ghana on Friday. Eventually, the mighty Uruguayan team won the game with a scoreline of 0-2 and despite that, failed to progress to the knockouts of the game.
