The FIFA World Cup 2022 hosted by Qatar is approaching the knockout stage and the teams are fighting it hard to storm into the Round of 16. With the likes of Brazil, France, England and USA already into the knockout stage, it remains to be seen if the likes of Argentina and Spain would join the heavyweight teams.

On November 30, Wednesday, Tunisia and France locked horns in the Group D match and both teams put out a great fight in the first half, it ended goalless for both teams. To add more to the first half, Les Bleus dominated the game, leaving no space for the Carthage Eagles to get a breakthrough.

As far as the second half is concerned, the teams still remained goalless at the 55-minute mark, and after fighting it hard for almost an hour, in the 58th minute, Wahbi Khazri produced the lead for Tunisia and put the team on the front foot. Eventually, with the goal, the momentum shifted away from France and the Les Blues started losing confidence. With just seconds left in the game, France’s Antoine Griezmann matched the lead for his team, only to get called off by the umpire. The Carthage Eagles ended their campaign in style with a 1-0 win and set the tone for the next edition of the FIFA World Cup.

On the other hand, Australia and Denmark faced off against each other in a Group D match simultaneously and the Australians were brimming with confidence and fire. However, despite creating many opportunities early on, the Australians failed to get a goal to their name.

Denmark, on the other hand, put on a great fight as they faced the fiery wrath of Australia in the first 45 minutes. While the Socceroos kept toiling hard, Denmark kept defending and the defenders ensured that they did not concede the lead to Australia.

In the second half, it was all about Mathew Leckie as he produced the lead for Australia in the 60th minute and put his team ahead. Eventually, the Socceroos started creating more opportunities post the goal and inched closer towards the much-needed win that might take them into the knockouts. Eventually, with the win, Australia progressed through to the Round of 16 stage, and Tunisia, on the other hand, despite giving it their all, bowed out.
