Esports World Cup Foundation announces EWC Club Program

The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has just announced the EWC Club Program. This is done to help the participating organizations of the Saudi Esports World Cup with sustainable planning.

Furthermore, the initiative also plans to “unite global fans of different esports titles under collective banners, and elevate the best athletes in the world under one consolidated competition,” as per an official statement.

This comes as a great opportunity for new esports organizations that want to create a foothold in the community. Those who have amassed a lot of fans in a short amount of time can also benefit from this program.

“Our goal is to help the clubs we collaborate with increase their brand visibility, compete in a world-class competition, and elevate esports as a global sport,” said Ralf Reichert, CEO of Esports World Cup Foundation

Quick Overview of EWC Program

The EWC Program will feature a total of 28 clubs. Out of these, 22 will be directly invited, while six others will be selected from open applications. The EWCF has already started taking applications from organizations.

The applicants will be evaluated based on their viewership and social media engagement leading up to the World Cup. Selected applicants will also be eligible for a six-figure yearly payout.

Another thing to note is that being accepted into the program does not ensure a team’s participation in the Esports World Cup. They will still be required to compete and make their way through traditional methods.

Application process

In order to apply, organisations will have to visit the official website to fill out the form. They will be required to mention the club’s past competitive success, their objectives, and also their fan engagement.

The ones that are shortlisted will be able to further demonstrate their dedication in brief. This will also be a great time to convince EWCF why they are suitable for this position. The ultimate decision however remains with the EWCF.
