The 4th Match of the Legends League Cricket was played between Bhilwara Kings and India Capitals, which took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The Bhilwara Kings opted to bowl first after winning the toss. The India Capitals had the first strike, and the skipper of the India Capitals, Gautam Gambhir, departed for 12 runs. The Zimbabwean duo of Hamilton Masakadza and Solomon Mire got together and smashed the Bhilwara Kings all around the park.
While Hamilton Masakadza scored a fine 48 from 30 balls, with 6 fours and a six, Solomon Mire was in a ferocious mood as he put together a big knock of 82 from 38 balls, with 7 fours and 6 sixes which put India Capitals in the driving seat. The two-stroke makers took the score from 24 all the way to 129. Some hits at the back end from Dinesh Ramdin and Ashley Nurse took the India Capitals to a big score of 198-5.
For Bhilwara Kings, Yusuf Pathan and Tino Best were the picks of the bowlers as they picked up wickets for not many runs between them.
In the second innings, Bhilwara Kings showed no fight in the chase as there was already a significant amount of scoreboard pressure on them. They crumbled like a house of cards and looked short of any rhythm in the chase. Pankaj Singh picked up the wickets of Naman Ojha and Nick Compton at the start. Praveen Tambe then picked up Matt Prior and then the big wicket of Irfan Pathan later in the piece.
Liam Plunkett and Farveez Maharoof picked a wicket each, while Rajat Bhatia came in at the end and polished off the tail as he picked up 2 wickets for just 6 runs in his 8-ball spell. Ashley Nurse and Praveen Gupta also picked up a wicket each and added their name on the wicket’s column. It was a comprehensive win for the India Capitals in the end.
