Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals battled it out in a cliffhanger at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium. Sandeep Sharma showed he still has it with the ball by outsmarting MS Dhoni in the last over. This was another game that went down to the last over. Once the game was finished, Yuzvendra Chahal amused one and all with his shenanigans.
After the match, Chahal was seen sitting on Shimron Hetmyer’s back as the latter tried to frantically get up. Chahal is not new to doing such things. The 32-year-old is known to have a very funny side to himself. He tries to play all sorts of pranks and has many lighthearted moments to take the pressure off himself and his teammates. The wrist spinner has a very jovial nature. In the Indian cricket team, his show Chahal TV has become very popular on social media.
Yuzvendra Chahal has picked up 10 wickets so far in the IPL
Chahal has spun a web around batters so far in this year’s IPL. The leg spinner has picked up 10 wickets and is the Purple cap holder in terms of most wickets. He also picked up a four-wicket haul in the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Chahal bowled well against CSK as well. In his four overs spell, he picked up 2-27 and turned the game around in the middle overs for RR. The spin trio of Ravichandran Ashwin Adam Zampa and Chahal were very destructive for RR.
In a closely fought encounter, MS Dhoni could not finish the run chase against CSK. RR won by 3 runs. The Chepauk crowd could not get the fairytale finish in MS Dhoni’s 200th game as skipper of CSK. RR fought hard in the first innings and scored 175-8 in their 20 overs in testing conditions. When it came to bowling, the strategy of holding back more overs of spin and the middle and at the death overs augured well for RR.
The last four games in the IPL have had last-ball finishes. The fans have had no nails left to chew. The matches have been intense and it is also very safe to say that the IPL is not very far from its Super Over this year. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the tournament pans out.
