India and Australia will be clashing with each other for a four-match Test series on Indian soil for the first time since 2016-17. The Men in Blue won the series 2-1 last time the Test matches were held here. India have also won the last two editions of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, which were held in Australia.
The fourth Test which will take place in Ahmedabad will see Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese witness the fourth Test as per a report from the Times of India. PM Modi will be watching a Test match at a stadium which is named after him.
The last time something like this happened in India was in the 2011 World Cup semi-final, which took place between India and Pakistan. India’s Prime Minister at that time Manmohan Singh and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani attended the event. India beat Pakistan in the semi-final and won the World Cup.
Australia will look to start the series against India on a good note and try to win early on in the series to set the tone. The first Test will be played at Nagpur. Australia have packed their side with spin options such as the likes of Nathan Lyon, Ashton Agar and Mitchell Swepson to play the series in India.
The Indian Test Team will look to make a statement in the series and will look to beat Australia on home turf. The Indian Test team has not looked all that well with the bat in recent times. They narrowly managed to come out unscathed in the second Test at Dhaka against Bangladesh. India have had their problems against finger spin and Australia will look to exploit this loophole.
Australia are preparing at Bengaluru ahead of the series and have got the services of a bowler who is Ravichandran Ashwin’s body double to counter the sliders of Ashwin and Axar Patel. Virat Kohli has also had his fair share of problems against spin and will look to counter them using his experience.

Great news in recent time relationship between India & Australia has only strengthened after 2008-2009 monkey gate saga. Hope it reaches new heights.

I just hope for a full house in our home tests too like Eng & Aus for at least 1-2 days in every test like it used to be in Ind Pak tests … Really makes it more memorable to watch 🤞
