The Tamil Nadu team has finally created history in the ongoing Ranji Trophy. The southern boys were up against a very strong Saurashtra team in the quarter-finals of the tournament. It all started well for the Tamil Nadu boys as they got Saurashtra out for a measly score of 183 with only Harvik Desai’s knock being the highlight. The Tamil Nadu batters tried their best on a dry wicket in Coimbatore and managed to score 338 runs to get a strong lead of 155 in the 1st innings.

The Saurashtra team’s game went from bad to worse as they once again got bowled out for 122. This gave Tamil Nadu an innings victory over the Saurashtra team and they made it to the semi-finals after 7 years under the leadership of Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore. This is a great moment for the Tamil Nadu team, who have been phenomenal this season. This performance also came against a team who were the defending champions as well.

This whole game belonged to Tamil Nadu skipper Sai Kishore. He has already been in good form in this tournament taking over 40 wickets this tournament and being one of the highest wicket-takers for his team. This was one of the best teams for the skipper as he not only took 9 wickets in the game but played a crucial knock with the bat as well. His 60 from 144 deliveries really helped the team get a massive lead in the game. Sai Kishore has had a great season leading this side and he will want to end it on a good note.

This was one of the most shocking results in the tournament. Saurashtra were supposed to be favourites to win this tournament. However, they were surprised by a masterclass from the opponents’ skipper, who made life miserable for the Saurashtra batters. Tamil Nadu has emerged as one of the strongest sides in the tournament and there is no stopping them. It will be interesting to see how Sai Kishore and his team will have planned for the next game in the tournament.
