Warner had not been at his best in Tests and it was a worrying sign for Australia to not have an in-form Warner on their side. He shunned all his doubters and smashed a superb double hundred against South Africa to get his form back.

The schedule has been challenging – David Warner

Warner went on to become the 10th cricketer to hit a double ton in his 100th Test. He became only the second cricketer to make a double century in his 100th Test. His whirlwind knock at the Melbourne Cricket Ground helped him get out of a three-year century drought in Test Cricket.

Warner had a good run in ODIs as well in 2022. The 36-year-old made 552 runs in 13 matches that he played at an average of 42.46. He was the Men’s player of the year in ODIs and he made one century and four centuries in the 50 over format last year.

He recently complained about the hectic schedule in international cricket, The left-handed batter recently confessed that he is “tired and exhausted” due to the fixture congestion and a hectic schedule.

“It has been challenging. I am quite tired, exhausted. There are a few guys who have gone to the UAE League, which are not going to the Cricket Australia awards. From my perspective, that would have been nice to have had another night at home. But it is what it is.”
