Australia’s experienced opener David Warner has revealed that this was his last T20I game on Australian home. David Warner has confirmed that the 2024 T20 World Cup will be his last T20 tournament for the Australia he won’t playing beyond that. Instead, he will give chance to young and talented players to show skills.

David Warner played a superb knock of 81 runs from just 49 balls in the third T20I against the West Indies. West Indies won the match by 37 runs. Australia won the T20I series by 2-1. David Warner has already retried from ODI cricket on 1st January 2024 and from Test cricket on 6 January 2024.

“It was good to have a break and play the franchise stuff. I’ve got a lot of time off after the New Zealand series, go to the IPL before we embark on a World Cup in the Caribbean. Was quite surprised an opening bowler at 145kph and swings it not trying to get me out. Go the Caribbean, the boundaries aren’t too big there. I’m well and truly done, it’s time for the youngsters to come through and show their talent,” Warner said after winning the Player of the Series award.

David Warner sets his eyes to play T20 World Cup

David Warner has stated that he is satisfied with his cricketing career and ready to give his place to the young generation. Before going to T20 World Cup in West Indies and The USA he plays T20I series against New Zealand and IPL.  He has already stated to give chances to youngsters in the team.

Australia will start their T20 World Cup campaign against Oman on 6th June. As his nearing his end of cricket will look to end it at high note. David Warner has played an important role in the Australian team across all the format. He has won World Test Championship title and ODI World Cup with the team in 2023. He was part of the team that won the T20 World Cup in 2021 in UAE.
