Charlotte Flair will look to defend her Smack Down Championship against Sonya Deville

Charlotte Flair will be looking to better her father Ric Flair's record.

According to reports, Charlotte Flair will most probably be defending her Championship title in the Women’s SmackDown Championship which will be played against Sonya Deville. After she made a sudden return to SmackDown in the last edition in 2022. She defeated Ronda Rousey for the title. The Superstar has made an appearance as a fighting champion. 

She recently defeated Deville to get to her title on January 6, 2023, A big feud had happened backstage last week. The story continues between the two. In an interaction with Wrestling observer video Dave Meltzer had said in a report that WWE wants the two stars to face head-on after they had an altercation recently.

Charlotte can surpass the streak of 16 wins – Ric Flair

“Like every time you think ‘oh man Charlotte just laid her out’. This feud is like so one-sided, but she does keep going, like a good babyface but she’s not. So we’ll probably have another match between the two of them.” Charlotte has 14 World Championships in her kitty after she defeated Ronda Rousey to claim the SmackDown Women’s championship.

Interestingly, the record that she has to her name is only two behind her father Ric Flair’s record who had 16 wins to his name. “I’m glad Ashley [Charlotte’s real name] is with WWE. She couldn’t be more successful. I mean, 14 times guys. To me, it’s very realistic that she wins or actually surpasses the 16 goal. I think that would be on her plate. I think it’s something that is very possible,” said Ric Flair on To be the Man Podcast.

With Ric Flair, John Cena is the only professional wrestler to win 16 championships. The Last title win of the WWE Great took place at the 2017 premium Royal Rumble Event. Ric Flair had a career spanning 50 years in Wrestling. He is regarded by journalists and peers as the greatest professional wrestler of all time. Flair signed on for WWF in 1991 which is now WWE.  He was popular with the crowd for his antics in the ring.
