Cameron Green included in Australia’s Playing XI for 2nd Test against West Indies despite testing COVID-19-positive ; stands at distance with teammates

Ahead of the 2nd Test game Cameron Green along with Australia head coach Andrew McDonald tested positive for COVID.

The 2nd Test match between Australia and the West Indies is held at Gabba in Brisbane on 2nd January. Ahead of the 2nd Test game Cameron Green, along with Australia head coach Andrew McDonald, tested positive for COVID-19. Australia has named the same playing XI for the 2nd Test match against the West Indies.  Even though Cameron Green tested positive he is part of the playing XI.

Both Travis Head and Cameron Green tested positive ahead of the game. After the 1st Test, Travis Head tested positive for COVID. He later joined the Australia training camp. Following COVID safety measures he tested negative in the last 24 hours.

While Head has fully recovered Green has maintained social distancing protocols while he is on the field. As per Cricket Australia protocols, Green can be part of the team for the 2nd Test match even though the result of his test doesn’t turn negative in 24 hours.

Before the start of the second Test, Australian players lined up for the national anthem. However, Cameron Green maintains his distance from his teammates because he is still COVID-19 positive. According to reports, Green will not make contact with any of his teammates during the game.

Australia won the 1st Test match by ten wickets against West Indies

In the first Test match between Australia and West Indies, the Aussies claimed an easy win over the West Indies by 10 wickets. Jos Hazelwood got his 11th-time 5th wicket haul. The Aussies bowled out the West Indies for 120 runs in the 13th over with a lead of 26 runs.

Steven Smith scored 11 runs and Usman Khawaja scored 9 runs before hurting himself by a bouncer. Later Marnus Labuschagne scored the winning run as Australia required only one run to win the match.
