‘More crowd than Pakistan’ – Fans react as huge crowd gather to cheer Nepal team in T20 World Cup 2024 qualifiers – WATCH

Nepal will be taking part in the T20 World Cup for the first time in 10 years.

Nepal has qualified for the T20 World Cup 2024, which is set to be played in the West Indies and the USA. The passionate Asian team beat the United Arab Emirates in the semifinal of the Asia qualifiers for the tournament, entered the final of the Asia qualifiers and registered a spot in the 2024 T20 World Cup. It is big news for the players and fans of Nepal.

Bowling first in Mulpani cricket ground, Nepal restricted UAE to a total of just 134 runs. Nepal’s bowling unit collectively performed well. Malla was the pick of the bowlers, who claimed 3 wickets and conceded only 11 runs in his spell of 4 overs. He was aided well by Sandeep Lamichhane, who claimed 2 wickets and conceded 14 runs in his spell.

For UAE, Aravind scored 64 runs and waged a lone battle. He did not get enough support from the other end. Chasing 135 runs, Nepal did not find much difficulty. Their captain Rohit Paudel and Aasif Sheikh saw off the chase for Nepal. As Kushal Bhurtel gave a blazing start for Nepal, the likes of Paudel and Sheikh anchored the chase. Sheikh and Paudel scored an unbeaten 63* and 35* respectively.
