India and Australia will compete in the first Test of the three-match series on February 9, Thursday and the surface has become the talk of the town, with many cricketers from both countries commenting and criticising the Nagpur pitch ever since the images of the surface went viral. Harbhajan Singh, the Indian off-spinner, opened up on the same and said that it was an unfortunate case as the surface has become a controversy.

Taking to his Twitter account, Harbhajan claimed that the Test wicket has become the talk of the town than the match itself. Saying that India vs Australia is the biggest series of all, Harbhajan expressed his concern over the surface. Notably, he is the only one to voice out for the surface and the criticism surrounding the pitch.

“India vs Australia is the biggest test series I think. But sadly pitches make more noise than (than) test Cricket . #Savetestcricket,” Harbhajan wrote on his Twitter account. Fans, on the other hand, claimed that it is good to talk about the surface as they are gaining more knowledge about the same, although a few stood with him on the issue.

Here is the tweet from Harbhajan Singh:

From Ian Healy to Ravichandran Ashwin, all have their eyes set on the Nagpur surface

However, a surface has never been, in most of the times, the talk of the town and it all started when the Australian team claimed that they are practising with Ravichandran Ashwin’s ‘duplicate’. Ever since they mentioned the spin factor, the likes of Ian Healy, former team India coach Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar and veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin have given their opinion on the pitch.

While Healy claimed that the Indian team prepare the pitch according to their own wish, Shastri hit back by saying that there is no harm if the pitch allows the ball to turn right from Day 1. Ashwin, on the other hand, took to his YouTube channel to comment on the same and said that the Australians do come up with such narratives ahead of every single Border-Gavaskar trophy.
