Pakistan are set to take on England in the finals of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 on November 13, Sunday, at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. India, who ended up as the Group 2 toppers, crashed out of the tournament after losing to the Three Lions in the knockouts on Thursday.

Heartened by Pakistan making it to the finals, Ramiz Raja, the chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), said that the team worked hard to get things right in the ongoing showpiece event and indirectly took a dig at the Indian cricket board saying that his team played way better than billion-dollar teams.

“Hum apne aap ko doubt karte rehte hai. Aap dekhe world cricket kitne peche reh gayi hai aur Pakistan kitna aage nikla hai. Aap dekhe, iss World Cup me nazar aagaya. Ki billion-dollar ki industry wali teams peeche reh gayi hai aur hum jo hai woh upar nikal gaye hai (We doubt ourselves a lot. You see, Pakistan has left world cricket behind. We all saw in this World Cup how Pakistan is far ahead of other billion-dollar teams),” Raja was quoted as saying.

You can enjoy but respect others as well: Ramiz Raja

The former cricketer further said that the Pakistani players can enjoy the reputation but must also respect players from other countries as well. Saying that his players are doing a few things right, Raja said that it was important for the team to keep going.

“Toh kahi cheez toh theek kar rahe hai na hum. So uska aap enjoy bhi kare and respect bhi kare. Issi team main se, pichle mahine ne main hi teen players ICC ke best players declare huyi hai (So, we are doing certain things right. You can enjoy that, but you have to respect others as well),” said the PCB boss further. As things stand, Pakistan would hope to clinch the trophy after a wait of 13 years and England, on the other hand, would look to carry on with the form and thump the Men in Green in the summit clash.
