England suffered its fourth loss of the tournament against Sri Lanka.

England is having a tough time in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. In 5 matches in the tournament so far, England has won only one match and lost four of them to find themselves at the bottom of the points table. In the first match, England lost to New Zealand. Though England made a temporary comeback to beat Bangladesh, they lost three matches in a row after that.

In the last three matches, England lost to Afghanistan, South Africa, and Sri Lanka respectively. The loss against Afghanistan hurt England badly. In Mumbai, England was hammered by South Africa for their biggest defeat in the ODI World Cup. Sri Lanka reduced England to just 156 runs and chased it down with 147 balls to spare. It has left the fans of England angry at their team.

One of the main players in England, Ben Stokes, could not start in the tournament due to an injury. Stokes finally came to the side in the game against South Africa. Yet, he has not been able to perform as well as one would have liked. Recently, Stokes shared a scary incident he experienced with Liam Livingstone in an auto rickshaw in India. Along with Andy Mitchell, England’s strength and conditioning coach, the two took a ride on rickshaw.
