Shubman Gill is the poster boy of Indian cricket at the moment. Gill has had another outstanding season in the IPL 2023. The Gujarat Titans opener has amassed 722 runs at an average of 55.53 and at a strike rate of 149.17. The man from Punjab has scored two hundred and four fifties. Gill also recently scored a double hundred in ODI cricket for India and has a ton in T20I cricket. He scored his sixth hundred against Australia at the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
In a recent interview, he was asked what qualities he would like to imbibe from his cricketing friends in the Indian team to which he gave an interesting answer. Gill, speaking about the superpowers he would like to take from the following players said: – MS Dhoni – thinking. – Virat Kohli – body language. – Rohit Sharma – calmness. – Hardik Pandya – confidence. When Gill gave his response to the same, social media was flooded with a lot of reactions. Some fans added more cricketers to the list and also added some qualities to it.

Gill has been the backbone of GT for the second season in a row. GT has done brilliantly so far. They had strengthened the side as compared to 2022 with all their bases covered. The addition of strong foreign buys such as Josh Little, Noor Ahmad and others have further solidified the side.
Indian buys such as Sai Sudharsan and Vijay Shankar have done very well and have made GT’s middle order stronger. GT has made it to the playoffs twice in two seasons. The duo of Hardik Pandya and Ashish Nehra have a way of getting the best out of their players. GT having a well-rounded side has made them a force to reckon with in all sorts of conditions. With the pitches of IPL 2023 being very diverse, this meant that GT could make optimal use of the players.
GT will face off against Mumbai Indians in the all-important second qualifier on the 26th of May. GT will want to defend their 2022 IPL title. MI will look to beat GT and get to their sixth IPL title if they emerge victorious in the final.
