Virat Kohli has been in great form with the bat, having scored two centuries in the recently-concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka. He scored his 46th ODI Hundred at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. With that innings, he is four short of 50 ODI tons and three short of Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of 49 ODI tons. His wife Anushka Sharma heaped praises on him after his amazing knock.

Anushka put out an Instagram Story lauding the former India skipper. “What a Guy. Shabaaash. What an inning played,” the Bollywood actor wrote on Instagram. Kohli played an unbeaten knock of 166 off 110 balls with 13 fours and eight sixes. This helped India get to a mammoth total of 390-5 in their 50 overs. Sri Lanka were not in the chase as they capitulated to 73-9 in 22 overs. Mohammed Siraj registered his best-bowling figures in ODIs as he picked up 4-32 in his ten overs. India won the ODI series 3-0.

This knock gave Virat Kohli his second-highest ODI score

India recorded the biggest win in ODIs against Sri Lanka in the third ODI. The Men in Blue won by 317 runs and elapsed New Zealand’s record against Ireland at Aberdeen in 2008. The knock that Kohli played also gave him his second-highest ODI score. His highest score came against Pakistan in Bangladesh where he scored 183.

He broke a lot of batting records with this knock. He now has 21 ODI Hundreds in India which is the most number of ODI hundreds in a country. He also recorded the most ODI Hundreds against a team which is ten hundreds against Sri Lanka. He also broke into the top-5 run-getters in ODI cricket behind Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara, Ricky Ponting and Sanath Jayasuriya.

He also got the player of the match and the player of the series award with this knock. He also hit a hundred in the first ODI against Sri Lanka on January 10. Kohli has scored 12754 runs in 268 matches at an average of 58.23 and a strike rate of 93.68. He has 64 half-centuries and has converted them into 46 hundreds. This talks about his strong conversion rate in the 50-over format.
