Virat Kohli stuns fans by playing an unbelievable helicopter shot against Sri Lanka, video goes viral

India and Sri Lanka locked horns in the third ODI at Thiruvananthapuram. India batted first and at the end of their fifty overs, racked up 390-5. Shubman Gill scored 116 off 97 balls which was his second ODI hundred and his first at home. Rohit Sharma was batting well but fell to Chamika Karunaratne off a good short ball when he was on 42.

Then Virat Kohli took over and set alight Thiruvananthapuram with his wonderful display of batting. Unlike in the first ODI, he did not play the anchor role, but he scored at a very quick rate. He ended up batting on an unbeaten 166 off 110 balls with 13 fours and 8 sixes.

Virat Kohli got to his 46th ODI hundred against Sri Lanka

During the course of innings, he played a wonderful shot that thrilled the fans to bits. It happened in the fourth ball of the 44th over. Kasun Rajitha bowled a slower ball, Kohli picked it up and sent it way back into the stands.

He broke into a big smile as he saw Shreyas Iyer after playing the shot. Kohli whipped the ball with his wrists which gave him tremendous power into the shot. The shot and the finish was akin to one of Dhoni’s helicopter shots.

Kohli has been back among the runs. He scored his 46th ODI hundred against Sri Lanka. He started quickly and got into the groove once he was in and had the measure of the pitch. He launched an assault on the Sri Lankan bowlers. He smashed sixes at will. Kohli got to 150 for the second time in ODIs. He has scored 183 against Bangladesh, previously, which was his highest ODI score.

Kohli is now only three short of Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of 49 hundreds in ODIs. Kohli has got 12754 runs in ODIs. He has got an average of 58.24 and a strike rate of 93.68 in the fifty over format. He had also scored his 44th hundred against Bangladesh which happened in the third game of the three-match series where Ishan Kishan made 210, which was the fastest ODI double ton.
