‘Alia Bhatt ko kyu nikala Dhulania 3 se?’ – Netizens ask as Karan Johar announces his next Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari featuring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor!

For Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Shashank Khaitan will be reuniting with Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan. Previously, Varun Dhawan and Shashank Khaitan collaborated on the Dulhania series of films, which also starred Alia Bhatt. Shashank Khaitan made her acting debut in Dhadak, collaborating with Janhvi Kapoor.

The post announcing the movie had the following caption: “Our Sanskari is headed to meet his Kumari! This entertaining love story will soon be available on big screens! On April 18, 2025, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari will open in theatres. Karan Johar will produce the movie.” Some people on the Internet were ecstatic about Varun and Janhvi’s on-screen duo, while others weren’t as thrilled. Varun Dhawan teased his Instagram followers before revealing the movie’s plot. He wrote, “Since there’s been so many announcements of what I am doing and what’s the title of one of the films, get ready to be proved right or wrong?” His post was made in response to rumours that his upcoming movie would be the third instalment in the Dulhaniya film series. Regarding KJo’s Dharma Productions, their Dulhania series of films included Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.

Dharma Pictures also released a sort of teaser on Wednesday. The picture caption read,  “A new love story is planted and it’s full of -shine! Pay attention.” Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan previously starred together in Nitesh Tiwari’s 2023 film Bawaal.

According to a report on PeepingMoon.com, Alia would not be appearing in “Dulhania 3” and Janhvi Kapoor would be playing a new Dulhania (bride) opposite Varun Dhawan, who also starred in the first two Dulhania films. Karan seemed to be responding to this report. The portal claims that Shashank Khaitan is directing “Dulhania 3,” adding that the film “will have a different plot and characters and is in no way connected to the previous parts.”
