Together, Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, and Wamiqa Gabbi are bringing forth ‘Baby John‘ the “biggest action entertainer.” The first-look poster for the movie and a character introduction video featuring Varun Dhawan was released by the makers on February 5. For those who don’t know, ‘Baby John‘ is the official Hindi adaptation of “Theri,” directed by Atlee and starring Thalapathy Vijay, Samantha, and Amy Jackson.

Following the success of his directorial debut with ‘Jawan,’ Atlee will now work in Bollywood as a producer. He is working with Jio Studios and Cine1Studios to co-produce ‘Baby John.‘ On February 5, the film’s makers released a sneak peek and first-look poster. With the caption, “Unveiling the Biggest Action Entertainer of the year 2024,” Atlee posted the glimpse’s YouTube link. ‘Baby John’, starring Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, and Wamiqa Gabbi, will hit theatres on May 31.

Though there has been no official confirmation, there have been rumours that ‘Baby John’ is an official remake of the 2016 Tamil hit film ‘Theri’. Theri is one of the three blockbusters that Thalapathy Vijay and director Atlee have collaborated on; the other two are Mersal from 2017 and Bigil from 2019. The director made his Bollywood debut in 2023 with ‘Jawan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, which went on to earn over Rs 1000 crore globally.

On May 31, ‘Baby John’, which is proudly presented by Priya Atlee, her husband, and Jyoti Deshpande under the banners of A For Apple Studios, Cine1 Studio, and Jio Studios, will hit theatres. Irshad Kamil wrote the lyrics and Thaman S composed the soundtrack for the movie.

The ‘Mahurat Pooja’ ceremony was recently glimpsed by Varun, who posted a brief video of the venue decorated with flowers, as well as the movie’s clapperboard. Producers Atlee and Murad Khetani entered the pooja ceremony, and actor Keerthy Suresh graced the occasion wearing a bright yellow saree.

Wamiqa, who is enthusiastic about the project, previously stated in a statement, “It’s an exciting experience for me to be a part of VD18. I’m excited to embark on a creative journey with Atlee sir, working with amazing talents like Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh. My eternal gratitude goes out to 2023, the year that brought about a fresh start in my life. And it’s the ideal way to cap off the year to be on sets for my upcoming project. These kinds of moments serve as a constant reminder of why I love my work, and I can’t wait for viewers to see the magic we are bringing to the screen.”
