The Super 12 stage of the 20-20 World Cup has come to a close as the fans are geared up to witness highly anticipated semi-final encounters. The first semi-final will take place between Pakistan and New Zealand on 9th November at Sydney Cricket Ground, while India will be locking horns with England in the second semi-final on 10th November in Adelaide.

Amidst all the buzz, most fans and cricket experts are expecting India to take on Pakistan in the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Recently, South African cricketer, AB de Villiers expressed his desire to watch an India-Pakistan final on 13th November 2022. He took part in a poll which asks the fans and experts if they want to see India and Pakistan going into the final.

At the time of writing, more than 75 percent of people wish to have an India vs Pakistan encounter. AB de Villiers also voted the same but expect New Zealand and England to give a tough fight.

“Fantasy final indeed! So far 70% have voted Yes, but I’m sure NZ and ENG will have something to say about that. Both teams have amazing line-ups and are in good form. Gonna be two epic semi-final clashes. My vote goes for an Ind/Pak final too, would be a mouth-watering encounter.” De Villiers wrote on Twitter.

Notably, India and Pakistan have already faced each other once in the competition in the Super 12 stage. It turned out to be a last-ball thriller and the fans expect to witness a similar encounter in the final as well.

In that gam, Pakistan had managed to score 159 runs in the first innings, thanks to valuable half-centuries from Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed. India, in reply, were in all sorts of trouble at 31 for 4. Pakistan looked favourites to win the clash at that stage but Virat Kohli had other ideas.

The former Indian skipper played, arguably, the best knock of his T20I career as he smashed 82 runs in just 53 balls to guide the team to a 4-wicket win over the arch-rivals.
