The Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad battled it out at the Narendra Modi Stadium. SRH won the toss and chose to bowl. Wriddhiman Saha fell for a three-ball duck to Bhuvneshwar Kumar This was not the best start for GT. After that, GT kept punching the SRH bowlers hard with a 147-run partnership between Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan. Gill made a sublime 101 off 58 balls with 13 fours and one six. He was Bhuvneshwar’s second wicket. Sudharsan made a nice 47 off 36 balls with six fours and one six.

Sudharsan was caught by T Natarajan off Marco Jansen. Gill’s knock held the innings together, while GT had a steady flow of runs for a long period of time. SRH had wickets in the last five overs of the innings. The way GT switched gears and well counterattacking, it looked like they would get to 200. But SRH pulled things back in the death overs with a flurry of wickets. The big fish Hardik Pandya fell to Bhuvneshwar.

Mohammed Shami took four wickets for Gujarat Titans with the ball

Natarajan accounted for the fall of David Miller. Fazalhaq Farooqi had Tewatia caught by Jansen. Bhuvneshwar bowled a superb 20th over to end the innings on a high note. The right armer picked up the wickets of Rashid Khan and Mohammed Shami. This capped off a wonderful five-for for him. He also affected the run out of Noor Ahmad in combination with Heinrich Klassen. Due to this GT could not finish well and ended up on 188-9 in their 20 overs. Bhuvneshwar picked up 5-30 and was the best bowler for SRH.

In the second innings, it was an absolute tale of woe for SRH as their batting did not click at all. There was no application shown by them. Klassen showed some fight as he made a brilliant 64 off 44 balls with four fours and three sixes. It was a good innings but he fell to Shami.

They could not stitch timely partnerships and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Shami picked up four wickets, while Mohit Sharma picked up three. Yash Dayal picked just one. In the end, the target was too steep for SRH as GT won by 35 runs.
