In a conversation with a source, PTI recently revealed that the celebration wasn’t meant for the selectors. He said, “Sarfaraz’s celebration during a Ranji match in Delhi was meant for his teammates and coach Amol Mujumdar, who had doffed his hat. The selector present was Salil Ankola and not Chetan Sharma. Sarfaraz took the team out of pressure, and the celebration was a relief.”
The source further spoke about how it was the point of discussion when it was meant for the players and teammates to celebrate with him. They said, “Is it even wrong to be exalted in your celebration and that too when you are pointing towards your own dressing room.”
Additionally, there was a situation where it appeared that MP coach Chandrakant Pandit had issues with his behaviour, but the source claimed that Pandit had always been kind to him. The source said, “Chandu sir treats him like a son. He has always had good things to say about him, and he has known him since he was 14 years old. He would never be angry with Sarfaraz.”
Those who know Sarfaraz are curious why he was not included in the Indian team considering his significant scoring. He has met the currentIndian team’s fitness standard of 16.5. Regarding cricketing fitness, he has occasionally batted over two days and handled fielding for another two days.
