The 19th Match of the Caribbean Premier League kicked off yesterday between Barbados Royals and Jamaica Tallawahs. The Jamaica Tallawahs won the toss and opted to bowl first at the Queens Park Oval at Port of Spain in Trinidad. Barbados Royals were put in to bat first by the Tallawahs and got off to a very nervous start losing Rakheem Cornwall and Kyle Mayers to Imad Wasim. Corbin Bosch departed to the same bowler as well. At 17-3, the Royals were staring down the barrel.
Quinton De Kock, batting in the middle order, came on and turned things around for the Barbados Royals. He blazed away to 74 from 43 balls and hit 7 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. This monumental effort from the South African import allowed the Barbados Royals to get to a total of 146 for 6, which was by no means a match-winning one, but a fighting score. There was another valuable contribution lower down the order by David Miller, who scored 34 from 27 balls with 1 four and 2 maximums.
It was a tale of two halves with the bat for the Royals as barring the two South Africans, none of the others could get going. The Pakistani overseas duo of Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir scalped 4 wickets between them and broke the back of Royal’s batting, Fabian Allen and Nicholson Gordon picked up a wicket each in their spell.
In the second innings, Brendon King and Amir Jangoo smashed a flurry of boundaries and put the Barbados bowlers under pressure. They scored 46 and 29 runs, respectively, with 7 boundaries and 3 sixes hit between them. There was a second rain delay at the 17th over and the Duckworth Lewis par score was 120 at that point in time and the Tallawhs were well ahead. To be precise, they won by 6 runs over the Barbados Royals.
The Tallawahs put in a great performance with bat and ball to earn two vital points.

Kyle Mayers played like Amir Jangoo has been playing in the tournament.
Hopefully, Jangoo can fire in the 2nd innings. His family is also present today at the stadium. 🇯🇲#CPL22 #JamaicaTallawahs #AmirJangoo
