Having won the toss, Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur opted to bat first. The India batters did a remarkable job as they compiled a total of 428 runs to set the stage for a memorable victory. They could only manage to string together a total of 136 with Deepti Sharma claiming a five-wicket haul. India did not enforce the follow on, instead added 186 more runs before declaring. England were set to a daunting target of 479. The visitors had an even worse outing with the bat in the second innings as they were bowled out for just 131. Deepti Sharma was once again the star as she claimed 4 wickets while Pooja Vastrakar picked up 3.
