India and Pakistan are all set to cross swords in the high-octane encounter in the ODI World Cup 2023. Both teams will play their next match in the tournament tomorrow Saturday, October 14. It will be the eighth match between the two arch-rivals in the history of the ODI World Cup since their first meetup during ODI World Cup 1992.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan players received a warm welcome in Ahmedabad on their arrival ahead of the big match against the hosts. But it looked like the welcome of the Pakistan Cricket Team didn’t go down well with a wider section of the Indian citizens.
Subsequently, they went on trend with the hashtag, BoycottIndoPakMatch on X (formerly Twitter). In this trend, the netizens are urging the Indian Cricket Board, and Secretary Jay Shah, alongside Indian PM Narendra Modi to stop all this welcome and reception to the Pakistan team. Apart from that, they also urged the other cricket fans to boycott this match citing the border and political tensions between both the countries.
Notably, there has been much tussle and turmoil between India and Pakistan on geopolitical grounds. Meanwhile, the Indian government authorities have also come up with some diplomatic verbal attacks on Pakistan, asking them to stop cross-border terrorism which is allegedly a state-sponsored thing in Pakistan.
Talking about cricket, both teams are coming off with two successive wins in their first two league matches of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. India defeated the five-time World Cup champions, Australia in the first match followed by a massive 8-wicket win against Afghanistan in the second match.
On the other hand, Pakistan won their first match against the Netherlands by 81 runs, played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Subsequently, the men in green registered a historic win by 6 wickets against Sri Lanka in the second match, chasing down the highest-ever target in the history of the tournament.
IndiaVsPakistan match should be boycotted.
It's a joke that on one hand you are asking our soldiers to give away their lives & then you are playing matches & celebrating.
Like to boycott & see the power of X. pic.twitter.com/fmQRK2WU1x#BoycottIndoPakMatch #ShameOnBCCI…

#JayShah &BCCI should have been sensible enough to understand Indian sentiment before extending warm hospitality to Pakistani players
Never forget how Pakistani & Indian Islamists orchestrated the Hindu genocide in Kashmir#ShameOnBCCI#NarendraModiStadium#BoycottIndoPakMatch pic.twitter.com/PRJDHLuTff

Will you have normal relations with a neighbor who has been killing your family members for decades? Will you extend hospitality to him? Will you play cricket with him? Ask yourself these questions before getting excited for tomorrow's match. #ShameOnBCCI #BoycottIndoPakMatch pic.twitter.com/Ag6xXI9Whv
