The 2023 ODI World Cup will be held in India for the first time since 2011. This time around the tournament will be hosted by India alone. The qualifiers for the ODI World Cup are underway. The first game was played between Nepal and Zimbabwe. The games are being hosted by the Harare Sports Club. The coin went the way of the Zimbabweans as they opted to bowl first.
The openers from Nepal got their side off to a great start. Kushal Bhurtel made a stunning 99 off 95 balls with 13 fours and two sixes. He was complimented by Aasif Shiekh who crafted 66 off 100 balls with seven fours. Nepal were coasting at 170-0 at one point thanks to the mammoth opening partnership. Then the Zimbabwe bowlers clawed their way back with some quick strikes. At the time of writing, the score is 290-8 for Nepal in their 50 overs. One of the highlights to watch was a Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fan watching the qualifier game, He had worn an RCB jersey for the game.

They have also made it to the playoffs from 2020 to 2022. They narrowly missed out on a berth in 2023 as well.
There is another game of the World Cup qualifiers that are happening at the Takashinga Sports Club in Harare. The game involves the United States of America (USA) and the West Indies (WI). At the time of writing, West Indies are 261-6 in 44.4 overs. The coin went the way of the USA and they elected to bowl first. 20 Group matches will be played before the Super Six Stage will kick off.
