Gujarat Titans continued their dominance over Rajasthan Royals by defeating them by 9 wickets in match number 48 of IPL 2023 at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. RR skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to bat first.

However, GT bowlers proved his decision wrong as they bowled RR out for just 118 runs in 17.5 overs. Rashid Khan was the main anchor of GT’s bowling as he scalped 3 wickets by conceding only 14 runs in his four overs. In reply, GT chased the winning total in just 13.5 overs losing 1 wicket.

Jos Buttler didn’t look in great touch as he was dismissed by GT skipper Hardik Pandya in the second over after scoring just 8 runs when he tried to take on outside off short delivery but ended up giving a catch to Mohit Sharma at third man.

A few overs later, the centurion of the previous game, Yashasvi Jaiswal was run out after scoring 14 runs. After that, RR kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out under 120 runs without playing complete 20 overs.

Samson turned out to be the highest scorer for RR as he got out after scoring 30 runs off 20 balls hitting three fours and a maximum. For GT, Rashid Khan starred with the ball, picking three wickets for 14 runs.

Noor Ahmad took 2 wickets in his four overs, conceding 25 runs, while Pandya, Mohammed Shami and Joshua Little shared a wicket each.

Pandya took the game away from RR in a single over

Chasing the winning total, Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha gave a flying start to GT by adding 71 runs for the first wicket in 9.4 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal got the first and only wicket for RR by dismissing Gill, who scored 36 runs off 35 balls, including six boundaries.

After that, Pandya took charge for GT by smashing Adam Zampa for one four and three sixes in the 11th over. He remained unbeaten on 39 runs off 15 balls with three fours and three sixes. While, on the other hand, Saha scored 41 runs off 34 balls hitting five boundaries and scored the final run for GT as they won the game with 37 balls to spare.
