Royal Challengers Bangalore have announced Mo Bobat as thew new director of operations of the franchise for the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League. As RCB parted ways with Sanjay Bangar and Mike Hesson, there was a void to be filled in the management. RCB announced Andy Flower as the Head coach of the franchise for the 2024 season of the IPL.
The former IPL finalists have now announced Bobat as the head of the operations. Bobat has been with the England and Wales cricket board since 2011. Bobat played a key role in England winning the ODI World Cup 2019 and the T20 World Cup 2022. The contract of Bobat with the England cricket bord will end in February 2024. After that, Bobat will join the camp of RCB.
Speaking about his association with the England cricket board, Bobat said “I’ve had the most amazing 12 years at the ECB, and it’s been both an honor and a privilege to have spent the last four years as Performance Director. Supporting our efforts towards multiple Ashes campaigns and World Cups has quite literally been the stuff of dreams. I’ll be forever grateful for all of the opportunities and support that I received over the years and will carry with me many special memories, shared achievements and friendships.”

RCB is one of the most recognizable franchises in the world – Mo Bobat
Bobat further spoke about his association with the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Andy Flower. “RCB is one of the most recognizable franchises in the world, with a renowned fan base. To serve them will be a huge honor. I’m really looking forward to working closely with Andy Flower, somebody I know well, to take on the baton and deliver the success that RCB craves,” said Bobat after the announcement of his appointment.
Bobat has previously worked with Flower on a consultancy basis. The duo will join each other in the camp again in the summer of 2024, when they hold their respective posts in the IPL franchise. Fans are hoping that Bobat turns out to be good for them, just like Mike Hesson.
