Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) battled it out at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday. Once again, CSK proved why they are so tough to beat at their home ground. CSK beat RCB by 7 wickets. Devon Conway made an unbeaten 77 off 57 balls with 12 fours and one six. CSK have jumped to the third position in the points table of IPL 2023.
However, the highlight happened after the game, as MS Dhoni and Harsha Bhogle got chatting at the post-match presentation. When the two were talking it was a sight to behold. MS Dhoni said that he is at the ‘last phase’ of his cricketing career and this statement caused a lot of watery eyes in India. The former India captain has not had it easy in IPL 2023. He is playing despite carrying a knee injury which talks about the greatness of the man.

“All said and done, it’s the last phase of my career, however long I play,” he said when asked in the post-match interaction how he tends to deal with all the roar and crowd support at Chepauk. βAfter two years, the fans have had the opportunity to come here and watch, feels good to be here. The crowd has given us a lot of love and affection. Not getting enough chances to bat, but no complaints.β Dhoni said.
Some time back, when MS Dhoni was asked about retirement at an event in Chennai, his reply left everyone in splits. “There is lots of time to take that call. Right now, we have lots of games, and the coach will be under pressure if I say something,” MS Dhoni had said. The man with the golden touch has led CSK to four IPL titles. They have been one of the most successful franchises in the IPL. CSK have made it to the playoffs of the tournament 11 times.
In the game against SRH, MS Dhoni was spot-on with his captaincy. Ravindra Jadeja was the game-changer with the ball for CSK as he picked up 3-22 in his four overs spell. SRH have now lost four games on the trot in IPL 2023.
