Watch: Yuzvendra Chahal kisses Suryakumar Yadav on his hand after his roaring innings against Sri Lanka, video goes viral

Suryakumar Yadav was in tremendous form as he waltzed his way to his third T20I hundred against Sri Lanka. He was in sublime form as he hit a stroke-filled unbeaten knock of 112 off 51 balls with seven fours and nine sixes. This innings helped India get to 228-5 and then a wonderful bowling performance helped India win by 91 runs.

Suryakumar earned high praise from his teammates for an outstanding batting display. In a video that went viral, Yuzvendra Chahal can be seen kissing Suryakumar Yadav’s hand after he had lit up Rajkot with his innings. During the post-match interview, Chahal said he was happy that Suryakumar was in the same team as him and that he was batting on a different level.

“It’s really important to put pressure on yourself when you are preparing for a game. If you do that in practice, it gets a little easier while playing the game. There is a lot of hard work involved but it’s about doing quality practice sessions. You should know what your game is and prepare accordingly. Boundaries behind are like 50-60 meters, so I was targeting them”, he said at the post-match presentation.

“There are some shots that are pre-determined, but you need to have other shots too so that if the bowler changes his plan, you can have an answer. He (Dravid) just lets me enjoy myself. He tells me to just enjoy and express myself.”. This is his third hundred in T20Is, which shows his blazing form and consistency in this format. He also scored 1164 runs in T20Is in 2022.

With a target of 228 on the board, the Indian bowlers had runs to bowl at which gave them some cushion. They responded well with Arshdeep Singh picking up 3-20 in his 2.4 over spell. Umran Malik, Chahal and Hardik Pandya picked up two wickets each to cap off a wonderful bowling performance and also give a 2-1 series win to the Men in Blue.
