The Asia Cup 2022 just got concluded, with the Sri Lankan team lifting the title after beating Pakistan in the final. The teams gave it their all in the multilateral tournament. They were some amazing performances on display. Players like Wanindu Hasaranga, Mohammad Rizwan, Virat Kohli, Naseem Shah, and Harris Rauf delivered some memorable performances in the Asia Cup 2022 but they were some players who failed to deliver the goods and were big misses in the continental tournament. Let’s talk about five of those:

1. Suryakumar Yadav:

He is touted as the next Ab de Villiers for India with his unorthodox style of play. He has the ability to hit the ball in all corners of the ground with his unique attribute as a batter. After he had a great series in the white ball formats in West Indies, everybody thought that he will have a great Asia Cup, but it was not to be. He failed to impress and ended up having a lackluster tournament.

He scored only 139 runs in the 5 matches that he had played except for the blitz against Hong Kong. He was either getting out early or was not able to convert his starts after getting set. He scored them at an average of 34.75 and a strike rate of 163.52. It was a below-par tournament for India’s newest batting sensation.
