3 times the India vs Pakistan match was abandoned due to rain

India vs. Pakistan rivalry in cricket is one of the most intriguing battles among teams. Over the years, the two teams have played each other many times, especially since the mid-1980s. The rivalry between the two teams grew during the same period. By the 1990s, the rivalry between the two teams had taken centre stage in cricket in most of the multi-nation tournaments.  

Since the mid-1990s, any event seems incomplete without a clash between these two teams. In these years, the teams have been involved in many memorable moments. More often than not, cricket takes centre stage in the clash between the two teams. But in some cases, due to the interruption of rain, there have been no results. Here are some such instances – 

3. 21 July 1997, Colombo (SSC) 

It was the fourth match of the Asia Cup 1997 between India and Pakistan in Colombo (SSC). Many matches in the tournament were affected by rain, as it was held during the rainy season in Sri Lanka. Unfortunately, the big clash was affected completely. Due to heavy rain in Colombo, the match had to be abandoned without a ball being bowled. Fans were very disappointed as there was no action in the match.
