It was the third ODI between India and Pakistan, who toured for an ODI series in Canada. All the 5 matches of the series were hosted in Toronto, which was won by India 3-2. The third ODI saw no result, as rain interrupted the match. Batting first, Pakistan scored 169/3 in 31.5 overs before rain had its say in the match. Saeed Anwar batted well and scored 74(84). The match was rescheduled for the following day, which was won by India.
