Arjuna Ranatunga led the Sri Lankan resurgence and won them the World Cup in 1996. He was a very charismatic skipper and he won the respect of his players. He led the team in 13 matches in the Asia Cup and won 9 of them and lost. He had a massive win percentage of 69.23 in the tournament.
