‘Yeh tho nashe mein hai’ -Fans react as Ravi Shastri says India need three left-handers in lineup ahead of ODI World Cup 2023
India won the ODI series against the West Indies 2-1. Now the next big assignment for the Men in Blue is the Asia Cup which will be co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Ahead of 2023 World Cup. Ravi Shastri said that India needs to have three left-handed options in the Indian batting lineup. He said that if two left-handed batters come into the mix with Ravindra Jadeja which means it will provide more dynamics to the Men in Blue.
Shastri said that Tilak Varma could be the number 4 for India ahead of 2023 World Cup. The former India head coach also backed Ishan Kishan and Yashasvi Jaiswal. He said since India have been persisting with these names over the last 6-7 months they should be continuously backed ahead of the big event. Tilak Varma made sizable runs in the five match T20I series. Kishan made three-half centuries in the three ODIs that he played.
If we have persisted with Ishan Kishan in the last 7 months it is important to back him – Ravi Shastri
“There are three other positions where I think two left-handers have to come in. Now, this is where the selectors’ role comes in because they are watching. They know who’s the guy who’s hot. If Tilak Varma is hot, bring him in. If you think (Yashasvi) Jaiswal is hot, bring him in,” Shastri said on Star Sports. This is the first time India will be the standalone host for the tournament.
“If you have persisted with Ishan Kishan for the last six to eight months, and he’s going to keep wickets, he comes in, in any case. But, get two left-handers,” he said.“Including Jaddu, there should be three left-handers in the top seven. Ishan Kishan has been keeping for the last 15 months. Why go somewhere else?” Shastri added. India’s form in ODIs has been up and down. India also needs to zero in on a sixth bowling option.
On this matter, the Indian bowling coach Paras Mhambrey said that Varma and Jaiswal could be the potential part time bowling options. Wasim Jaffer also spoke on the matter and said that the duo are not fully prepared to bowl at the international level but can be groomed for the future. India last won the ODI World Cup in 2011.

Nashe me kuch bhi bolna band karo , if you are so much worried abt ishan's place then get him in opening in place of FTB gill and not in middle where he struggles to rotate strike.
